I have used this setup almost a month ago and every time you have Amazon send id="hidden2" class="buttons"> the verification email that verifies your .edu account, the body of the email (which contains the verification link) is always blank. You can then call Amazon who will inform you that you now have to go through the manual verification process, which means you have to send them a copy of something physical from the school.
