And when we have the opportunity to put our hands in the soil, roll up our sleeves and break bread with the locals, we can gain perspective and clarity of our sense of place in the world. Our impact journeys were created to assist communities in need around the world through partnerships with local organizations who are creating change through education, sustainability, and art-based initiatives. Our role is not to come in with the answers, but to collaborate with local leaders on new tools, techniques and materials for lasting change. The Journey Service, Self-Exploration and Nature Immersion Come explore the beautiful culture of Morocco, deepen your yoga and meditation practices, and participate in local education and empowerment programs for women and teenage girls. In partnership with 109 World, we will journeying to the lively city of Marrakesh to work with local female entrepreneurs on arts and education programs. Next, we'll travel to the Sahara Desert for a 3-day nature immersion experience, hiking up the Atlas Mountains and sleeping under the stars in Bedouin tents. The Specifics Cost: $2,690 Early-Bird Price (before March 22): $2,540 Duration: 8 Days, 7 Nights WHAT'S INCLUDED? 3 days of service programs with local partners All materials for volunteer work Nourishing Breakfasts, Lunches And Dinners Daily yoga, meditation and breathwork practices Introspective experiences and transformation circles in natural environments Self-reflection exercises to rebalance, recenter and re-align Accommodation at Riad Star In Marrakesh and Erg Chigaga Desert Camp In the Sahara Desert Does not include airfare, alcoholic beverages or personal purchases SERVICE THROUGH EDUCATION We will be working directly with The Henna Café, an arts and education center offering high quality classes, from science to performance arts, to Moroccan students. They aspire to help local Moroccans improve their skills and increase their employment prospects in a creative and nurturing environment. Our service will include: Painting the old front of the Café and redesigning the sign indicating that’s Cafe Henna and the School. Starting the renovation of the classroom. They currently don't have enough seating for everyone, and no desks. And for participants not interested in getting their hands dirty, leading an art workshop with the women, which we could then paint on the walls around the Cafe — sweet reminders of the talent they have, that they belong, that they're important.
