@bobalicious26964 months agoNow this is a low budget flick I can get behind. Not a lot of special effects, just good story telling. Plot moved along, not many dead spaces, dialogue was smooth, acting good, very engaging story. I'm glad I watched this, very thought provoking. ...28

@rickriffel62468 months agoI've discovered many new movies on Youtube, and this one is among the best. Nova is proof that it is possible to make a film that is equal to a Hollywood production without a Hollywood budget or any Hollywood companies. Nova seems equivalent to Steven Soderberg's Solaris -- it is just as well-made, from the cinematography to the acting, the script and the sound. An intelligent film, and marvelous in every way, seriously. ...47

@carlosio54 months agoThe 'special effects' and visuals were perhaps sub-basic & far from "special", BUT the CHARACTER-based story and fine acting (including the perfect little girl) were totally convincing and held one's attention throughout the presentation. Character always trumps fancy pyrotechnics and glitzy effects. Congratulations to all involved in this production.💥🔥❌🔥💥👁😊 ...13

@teach-learn40785 months agoOne of the best movies I've seen for a while, the best in English. I especially liked the casting which was absolutely pitch-perfect, e.g. Lynae was so perfect. The direction was a little lacking, but I've never seen a movie written and directed by the same person that stood out as well directed, the actors needed a little more support I found. Overall though, a tour-de-force imho. So to the story, which I find scarily and regretfully touching. I say regretfully bcs it looks like we, the human race, are way too far gone in the AI and android direction to escape exactly this kind of scenario from playing out. "What are feeling anyone?" asks the evil android. This exact question forms one part of the Buddhist practice of mindfulness meditation, at a more intermediate level. If only our species could (have) pursued wisdom and empathy, instead of pride and treasure, we wouldn't need transhumanism and all its perverted promises. "The kingdom lies within," said a very wise and humane teacher. All that to say that "at the end of the day" this 3-D level, this iivingness in duality, is a very existential affair, it does come down (and then pass through) these fundamental questions of what it means to exist, and what to do with all that? The final ending, the intelligent and sentient ship, which Startrek interestingly never took on as a theme, "apparently" is a real thing. Sentient craft have been reported by various secret space program insiders, mentioning no names. These craft, apparently, do enter into a temporary symbiotic union with the pilot, who directs it with his mind, through a glove which provides the material-energetic interface. More like a horse than a boat. All that to say, as different as a horse is to an M-16, is the M-16 or Apollo craft different to what coming for humanity - or more likely what has already existed for a very long time but which has not been in human consciousness very much at all, yet. A harbinger of things to come, one supposes. Meaning going back to the meditation cushion may after all be really the best way forward, all things considered. Cool movie, very entertaining and thought-provoking, thanks for uploading. ...1

@siggysue19685 months agoI really enjoy these films. Simple with a great story line. Entertainment that allows me to use my own imagination. Sure, big movies, with all those special effects are fun but require no self imagination. When you have more space to include your own imagination, you get to experience the story being told. That is good healthy brain stimulation, a process of thought, rather than the crap they are feeding us now, fast lane, quick adrenaline shot. The machine feeding you the thought drug, so you require minimal brain function. Ya, I enjoy the entertainment high, but adding great story movies like this, keeps your brain creative, thinking and dare I say, alive & growing. ...6
