High alerts on continuous heavy rains have remained in many parts of north China and the rains have triggered danger in some parts. Beijing issued a red alert for certain regions as heavy rains linger on due to follow-up impacts of Doksuri, the fifth typhoon this year that landed in Fujian Province in the east on the morning of July 28. China has a four-tier, color-coded weather warning system for typhoons, with red representing the most severe, followed by orange, yellow and blue. As of 11:00 on Monday , Beijing recorded an average rainfall of 164.7 mm, with the highest precipitation of 580.9 mm in western suburban Mentougou District. The drainage group in Beijing dispatched more than 2,600 personnel in 252 groups for emergency response, and the city has discharged more than 10 million cubic meters of water, equivalent to the volume of five Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace. #china #weather #beijing Subscribe to The Telegraph with our special offer: just £1 for 3 months.
