'The Bachelor' 2013 Finale March 11 proved itself a downer of a day for Lindsay Yenter, as the season finale of "The Bachelor" 2013 aired and America watched Sean Lowe dump her in favor of Catherine Giudici. Though without doubt a heartbreaking experience, the 24-year old handled it with such grace and poise that celebrity support poured in following the broadcast. In his March 12 Entertainment Weekly blog entry, "The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison praised Yenter for handling the break-up "with class," and seemed equally impressed that she managed to leave Lowe "with dignity" even after he broke her heart. Former "Bachelorette" Ali Fedotowsky offered up encouraging words of her own, writing "Keep your head up high Lindsay. You're a beautiful person. You will find your match. #TheBachelor @eonline." A handful of former "Bachelor" contestants also lent Yenter support. Ashley Spivey, who competed for Brad Womack's heart during his second quest for made for TV love, quipped "Lindsay is a strong girl. I cried way harder and I went home 11th. Bahahahaha. #Bachelor." Kacie Boguskie, who also vied for Lowe's affections, tweeted "This is truly heartbreaking... Lindsey handled this with complete class!! LOVE HER and respect her soooo much!! #bachelor." Following the finale, Yenter appeared on the "After the Final Rose" special, and still seemed shaken by the break-up. Though she insisted that she was "really happy" for Lowe and that her faith had been instrumental in coping with the disappointment, she was visibly frustrated by Lowe's inability to explain why he'd sent her packing. Sean has said just about every week on this season of the bachelor that he's confident he would find his wife on this show. It took him until the very last day to make his choice, but in the end he proposed to the woman who he saw as his best friend. And so, despite almost missing out on a rose after the hometown dates, Catherine won Sean's heart and his final rose. Looking like a Bond girl in a slinky gold dress, Catherine provided the producers with some good false drama by sending Sean a love letter they were able to use in promos to suggest one of the girls was bowing out. But that letter actually just showed Sean that he was making a good choice, proposing to a woman who is confident in herself and her feelings for the bachelor. While neither woman would have been a controversial choice tonight, Sean heightened the drama by refusing to choose between graphic designer Catherine and substitute teacher Lindsay until the last minute. When Catherine told Sean flat out that she loved home for the first time tonight, he responded with a frustratingly noncommittal "Thanks for today." Ouch. This left Catherine rightfully terrified. Though Yenter didn't touch on her future plans, one thing is a given: she won't be the next "Bachelorette." At the conclusion of "ATFR," Harrison formally revealed that the title had gone to Yenter's fellow Lowe reject Desiree Hartsock. Hartsock's quest as for love as "The Bachelorette" premieres on May 20.
