Protests over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis have spread to at least 30 US cities. The black American man died after being pinned to the ground by a white police officer who kept his knee on the suspect’s throat for more than eight minutes. George Floyd is the latest in a string of black Americans to die while being arrested or in police custody. There’s been violence looting and arson in some cities and several have imposed curfews. President Trump's national security adviser has denied there is institutional racism in the US police saying that most officers were heroes.
