BUY-BUST OPERATION IN A GAMEFOWL FARM LOCATED IN PUROK LACSON, BARANGAY ALEGRIA MURCIA, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL At around 7:45 PM on May 4, 2021, joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office VI (PDEA RO VI) under the direct supervision of Director Edgar S. Apalla, and local police, conducted a buy-bust operation in a gamecock farm located in Purok Lacson, Barangay Alegria Murcia, Negros Occidental that led to the arrest of the following suspects identified as: a. Justin Ledesma y Soberano alias Tin; and b. Reylan Artus y Valenzuela alias Toto Andrew Ledesma y Baldonado, the target of the buy-bust operation eluded arrest. Seized during the buy-bust operation were methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing 661.294 grams, with an estimated market value of Php4,496,799.20, a digital weighing scale, one plastic pack containing empty plastic sachets, a pouch, and the buy-bust money. A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 26 (Conspiracy to Sell Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, was filed against the suspects. The subject, suspect Andrew Ledesma, who owns two gamefowl farms that serve as fronts for his illegal drug activities, is a target-listed drug personality in the region. With that, a buy-bust operation was planned and set-up; and conducted at around 7:45 PM on May 4, 2021 that resulted in the arrest of his two cohorts, while he eluded arrest. Andrew Ledesma has record of arrests on July 2001, May 2003, and October 2009, which he then also eluded arrest from law enforcers, all for the same offense, the violation of RA 9165. During the investigation, it was known that his supply of illegal drugs were sourced-out from an identified leader of a local drug group. Upon learning the process of the drug transactions made by the suspects, PDEA will continue to conduct investigation and locate the whereabouts of the subject suspect, and the identified local drug group and its leader as their source of shabu for the neutralization of their drug dealings.
