Keeper Fluke ( Summer Flounder ) - JIGGING the OCEAN SURF - Striped Bass - TEASER FISHING & More. The ocean surf fishing went well for mid summer. First cast and summer flounder on. The fishing was followed by waves of fluke with a nice fat keeper summer flounder. Stole him. The summer flounder got stung by the Stingsilver lure while he was looking at my teaser. Northern kingfish, sea robin and a sundial to follow. The day finished with a round of striped bass most on the teaser with one on the Daiwa minnow. Stained water, fished to before dark and the fishing taped off. The jig and teaser has to be my favorite way to fish the summer surf. I bring several weights and shapes from 1 to 2 ounce. This allows me to poke for flounder far to the bar, through the trough and close to the lip. I work a few teasers most important. Dark and bright. Cloudy out so went most with the dark today. The fluke and striper with other fish mixed in seemed to like it. I also mix in some swimmers and a topwater to round the selection off. For sure the teaser most often is the center piece in summer.
