Oral Hygiene Instructions Tongue Cleaning And Bad Breath

The tongue has large surface area with many tiny spaces. This spaces can be filled with bacteria that are present in the mouth, the most common reason for bad breath. The bacteria produce toxins that can cause Halitosis (bad breath). This is very easy to correct. There are many different tools that can be used to clean the tongue but the most common are flexible scrapers. As can be seen here the area is scraped and all the bacteria and byproducts removed. Cleaning the tongue should be part of the daily routine especially with tongues that have deep grooves.
